The Benefits of Photography

After a whopping four months of our new living room redesign, we knew something wasn’t quite right.  After a few trips back and forth to various retailers, we decided to switch our our rug and sofa.  We opted for the oft-mentioned Petrie Sofa from C&B with its classic mid-century lines, and the more modern Burst Rug from CB2.  The brighter colors and richer fabrics make the entire room better.  You can see the before and after below.

As I went to take photos to share on here, I realized a nice little lesson.  Take pictures of your home.  Not only will they let you capture its character at a moment in time, but you want your pictures to look nice.  They’re a neat little trick for motivating you to clean up that pile of papers or vacuum your dusty floor.  After all, you don’t want to take time photographing it when it’s dirty, right?

So true. I’ve been looking at local real estate and I’ve been shocked at how many homes for sale have posted pictures of their house messy! What are they thinking?
