I am alwasys fantastically happy to find local furniture makers producing pieces I lust after, even if I can’t necessarily afford them.  Form3 Design, located in Petaluma, fits the bill.  Their one-of-a-kind pieces are simple, functional and beautiful.  Combining natural materials with modern aesthetics is definitely the route I prefer to take.  Their lounge chair is wonderful, a sort of George Nelson meets Don Draper.
