Usonian Home in San Francisco

June 29th, 2009 · No Comments

I just noticed this beautiful West Portal home for sale in today’s SF Chronicle.  Though the architect is unknown, it was built in Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian style, one he pioneered later in his life in an attempt to design homes for every American.  Constructed in 1954, this 2,344 square foot sits on a corner lot surrounded by beautiful greenery.  It has a very mid-century feel and is filled with iconic furniture, but the renovation still boasts some modern touches like Heath tile and a multi-room sound system.  Unfortunately, the price is a little higher now than the $39,622 it sold for originally.
