Ubiquitous airport gate seating; millions have seen these chairs in lounges all over the world.  While many people know of the talents of Charles and Ray Eames, far fewer are aware that they designed the Tandem Sling chairs.  Originally designed for Chicago O’Hare in 1962 and based on their Aluminum Group seating, these chairs have withstood the tests of time and lots of rear ends.  I love the picture of Charles above; it’s a good representation of the Eames were all about.
